About Us
We are a mother, daughter team that has found an interest in dogs that we are
both passionate about. Our interest in dogs started out with a Shetland Sheepdog
that Lisa started showing in 4-H, this sparked our interest in dog shows.
One sheltie led to another and next step was a litter of beautiful puppies. Upon
graduation from high school. Lisa fulfilled her dream and purchased a female Golden
Retriever, within a month a male was added and obedience classes were
started, as we worked toward obedience titles, mom and daughter were in
competition against each other. Both dogs finished their CD titles on the same
weekend. Once we decided we were going to breed goldens, the homework started.
We researched the breed and potential health problems and determined we were going
to do all that we could to produce healthy, well tempered Goldens that could do what they
were bred to do. And then Misty meadows was born in 2000. Soon we outgrew our half acre home, and a 21 acre property was
purchased. A kennel was built and a little over one acre was fenced for an exercise
area. One evening as we returned from a walk in the woods with our goldens at our side we entered the meadows and noticed a mist rising, thus our kennel name was born. Currently we are showing in conformation, and we have produced our first champion. We screen all our breeding dogs for health problems as recommended by the Golden Retriever Club of American . We are also involved with WAGS 4 Kids, a service dog organization for children. Several of our dogs have been life changing for the children they have been placed with.
